Growing up

Today I put away all of Caleb's newborn clothes! He only had about 8 outfits, and he'd go through 2 or 3 even 3 on a crazy day, so we'd gotten quite familiar with them all. It will be fun to start on our large collection of 0-3 month clothes!

We also tried upgrading to size 1 diapers, since we'd experienced frequent blowouts and spillages recently in his newborn diapers, but the first size 1 diaper resulted in more spillage, this time because it was too big. So, back to newborn diapers for a bit, and we'll see how long that lasts.

  1. Yay! A post! :) I can't believe your maternity leave is almost up! It seems like you just had a baby!

  2. Ooo, sorry the larger diaper didn't work either. I guess just keep him on those lap pads for a while.

  3. Boo on going back to work, but yes, what a blessing you get to be with your kiddo while you do it! And tmi on the diapers...have you tried duct tape?

  4. Sophie just started wearing size 1 diapers about a week and a half ago. She's long and thin (compared to diaper sizes), so we had to find a diaper that fit.

This is what worked for us:
Sophie wore Pampers newborn when she was really little. She grew out of those, but was still too little for size 1 Pampers, so we bought some Huggies newborn, which fit her belly better. She eventually grew out of those, but she's still too small for Pampers newborn, so we found that the HEB Supreme fit size 1 diapers fit her perfectly.

I'm not sure how Caleb is designed, but that's worked for us. :)

Oh, and you're way ahead of us. I planned on cleaning out Sophie's closet weeks ago and still haven't done it. That's one of my goals today. It's the new year, time to start organization!

  5. @Jill: Thanks for the info! I actually had a couple of Huggies newborn samples, and they DO fit better! I wonder if he'll be in them long enough for me to buy a whole pack?

Who am I kidding, the kid goes through diapers like they're going out of style!

  6. One can never have too many diapers, I've found. Never.

My oldest son had many leakages out of the tops of the Pampers newborn diapers before I realized that I needed to, umm, position the "equipment" at a downward angle. We were fine after that. It was quite the "DUH" moment for me. I've had lots of those moments over the past eight years. :)

  7. @MHN: You know, I was wondering about that! There's a huge learning curve when it comes to babies!
