Caleb was born with a nice head of hair, so it's no surprise to us that he needed his first haircut before his first birthday. It wasn't a mop head of curls or anything like that, but it was over his ears and very uneven--he still had some of his original hair that had grown to about 4 inches long!
I started cutting Jon's hair when we first got married, and now Jon cuts his own hair for the most part. So it seemed fitting for us to cut Caleb's hair instead of take him somewhere. So, that's what we did. We brought out the razor and clipped his hair at 3 different settings: 1/2", 3/4" and 1" from bottom to top. I was worried it would be too short, but I think it worked out great!
We started in the bathroom, but moved outside to get an outlet closer to where Caleb was. He was entertained by his Daddy and his bath toy, and stayed very still. He got nervous a couple times and needed hugs from Daddy, but was an overall champ! Here are the pics:
It looks really good! What a cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteYou did a GREAT job! He's so handsome!
ReplyDeleteGood job on the haircut...and good evening (morning?) light. Oh, our lens...bought the cheap 50mm prime lens. It's hard to focus, but when it is in focus...I really likey!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! Now he is back to his dapper self!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie!!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat work! I'm so impressed! I have no faith in my hair cutting skills...although I've paid for some butcher jobs on B's hair I'm pretty sure I could have matched for free.
ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me how much older little boys look after a hair cut. As always, he's a doll!
@Special Speck: I love the nifty fifty!
ReplyDeleteDid you keep some hair?
