Could it be true?

Yesterday and today, we've been able to put Caleb down for a nap while he was still awake! He fussed for just a few minutes, and then went to sleep!

We haven't read any books on sleep training, or looked online, or anything like that, but we figure that if we can lessen his dependency on external things to get him to sleep (rocking, music, swaddling, etc.), then that's probably a good thing. I'm sure he's not fully independent--we've had to rock him to sleep a couple times today--but it's a start!

Here's our little man in a nap before church this morning.

  1. We did the same thing (cry it out) with Elliott and I would say that it's one of the best things we've done so far as parents! He sleeps great...he wants to go down for naps and bedtime! And, he can go to sleep anywhere! I will say that he does take a pacifier and blanket, and a noisemaker, but other than that, he's easy! Way to go Caleb!

  2. That can not be Caleb! He is too big. Caleb is a tiny squishy baby. That said...I LOVE his sleeping arrangement, a personal favorite of mine as well. Keep up the good work parents!

  3. He does look big in that picture! Oh, and way to go on "sleep training." I think it's safe to say that we've failed miserably in the department.

  4. No worries! He's still squishy and little; he just looks grown up in his little jeans! He's much more baby-like in his pjs.
